The Correct Way to Brush Your Teeth (Infographic)

Brushing your teeth is important as it removes the plaque that builds up on the teeth surface. Plaque is a film of bacteria that can lead to gum disease and tooth decay. Dentists recommend brushing your teeth twice daily, once in the morning and once before sleep, for a period of two minutes. Teeth cleaning at home requires a proper toothbrush with either medium or soft bristles, fluoride toothpaste and a proper brushing technique. Either a manual brush or an electric one is fine; the act of brushing is more important than the toothbrush used. Many people do not brush all the surfaces of their teeth, which leads to bacteria and decay. The inside, outside and chewing surfaces of your teeth must all be brushed adequately.
