9 Beauty Care Tips & DIY Recipes for Normal Skin Type

Skincare questions are abundant not only for the dry or oily skin types but also for people with normal skin. Which facial is good for normal skin? Which facewash to use if you have a normal skin? To bring all of it to you in one digest, this article comes to the rescue.

What is Normal Skin Type?

Skin types are dependent on water content (elasticity), oiliness (softness), and sensitivity. Normal Skin is neither too dry nor too oily. They have fewer imperfections or visible pores. Despite being easy to care for, if not maintained properly, the normal skin suffers damage too. The skin also changes with time and depending on the nature of care. With ageing, normal skin tends to change as well and could become either dry, oily or sensitive. Make sure that you maintain your normal skin’s health properly, through a good skin care regime, and it will keep you looking beautiful for long!

Skin Care Routine for Normal Skin

The normal skin care routine contains some essential steps to keep the skin healthy. There are certain care procedures you should follow, along with a few lifestyle habits you should maintain.

1. Moisturize

Moisturizing is important in order to keep the skin hydrated. Moisturizing normal skin requires keeping it light when needed as well as providing the nutrition. During the day, go for a lightweight moisturizer, while at night look for those with high nutrition.

2. Use Cleanser

Every time you use makeup on your skin, it utmost important that you cleanse your skin thoroughly before going off to sleep at night. This lets your skin breathe. Skipping this process will lead to skin troubles! Even without the use of makeup, cleanse twice a week.

3. Exfoliate

Exfoliation is unavoidable as a practice because it ensures complete removal of impurities. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and dirt buildup. However, it needs to be done in a balanced manner. Too abrasive, and your skin gets hurt. Too light, and the dirt remains. So make sure you look for a good exfoliator. Do this once a week.

4. Protect Skin from Sun

If there is a prolonged exposure of the Sun to the skin, Sun’s UV rays start harming the skin. It can damage any type of skin, and cause wrinkles, acne, sunburn, etc. Protect your skin from the sun, especially during the summer, using sunscreen lotion, with an SPF of at least 20 or above.

The skin won’t sustain its health without nutrition from the inside, even if one follows a healthy skincare routine. For this, a diet that is balanced and comprehensive in nutrition is recommended. Given today’s food trends, make sure you eat a lot of green vegetables. Additionally, take 4-5 almonds or other dry fruits daily, as they contain healthy fatty acids.

6. Drink Enough Water

It cannot be emphasized enough how vital water is to your body. Adequate water flushes out impurities from your body, giving a glow to the skin. Drink at least 2L of water every day.

7. Exercise

Skin troubles are not just caused by dirt and dust. Sometimes it may be a sign of internal imbalance coming from an unhealthy lifestyle. Exercise is a way to keep some of those problems in check. The benefits of exercise are many for the body and the mind, including its positive effect on your skin’s health and beauty.

8. Use Face Mask

Normal skincare routine is incomplete without the use of a good face mask at least once or twice a week. It helps to exfoliate your skin, clean out your pores, and add nutrients to your skin. This brings about a healthy glow to your skin.

9. Use Chemical Free Products

Lastly, no matter how immune your skin is to skin problems, chemicals will damage your skin gradually, even accelerating your skin’s ageing process. Hence, go for natural products, and prolong the health of your skin.
